MONDAY CHIT-CHAT: SARO!

Happy Easter everyone! I bet you’re feeling relaxed, after all it’s been a long long weekend! What did you get up to? *yawns* I’m still in my bed 😀

Before we go on, have you voted for me? Nigerian Blog Awards ends TODAY. I take God beg you, just click HERE and vote for me for Best Humour Blog, Best Personal Blog and Blog Of The Year. Please, make my day! And don’t forget to follow the instructions oh! God bless you!
On Saturday I attended a Toastmasters event-prior to attending I had no clue what it was about although I read that if you attend you get to improve your communications and public speaking skills…plus attending was free…in Eko Hotel! Who no like free better tin? So I went with my friends and it turned out to be interesting. According to what we were told, Toastmasters is a club (you have to pay at the end of the day sha if you want to be a member), where they train you on leadership and communication skills but YOU have to take ownership of your growth…it’s an institution that’s over 90 years old and in over 160 countries. Impressive.
I attended because I want to improve my public speaking skills, anytime I get invited to speak at an event I turn it down because I’m just a bongafish. LOL. But I want to do better-I want to stand in front of a crowd without peeing on myself. Remember that post I did about side-hustle? If you find you don’t have time for side hustle then you should look for something to improve your skills. Don’t be stagnant. If you’re interested, the Toastmasters meet 1st and 2nd Saturday of every month (minus the one coming because of elections).
I wanted to attend the Gidi culture festival but I was too tired and I realised it was a till day break sontin, please I no get that kain energy and ginger. Did any of you attend? How did it go? I decided to stuff my belly with burger (I only have a burger once a month) and then go home. I DESERVE this burger!
This baby is about to go in my mouth
Biodun had fish and chips
Two things I did on Sunday that were fulfilling was going to my fave grills in and out for my Mongolian rice. The last time I went was in January…it’s because Bobo is not around and Lekki is not exactly in my backyard. I wish I could get that rice delivered to me everyday. Universe…help me.
Bowl of heaven
Ordered a pitcher of Chapman
After eating we went to watch Saro the musical. OMG! This is the most epic experience I’ve had in a long long time! I cannot believe it took so long for me to watch it. I would LOVE to describe the SARO experience but it is something you have to go and see for yourself. I cannot talk more than that one. Kudos to everyone that put it together- the cast, and especially Bolanle Austen-Peters. I have new found respect for her now. Too bad SARO is ending today, but if you have time, you can still watch it by 4:pm or by 7pm…I advice you to get there at least an hour early so you can get tickets and good place to sit.
SARO made my Easter complete. What have you been up to??

  1. I really love reading about your adventures. I really pray that God lifts me up again to be able to do these things. I really wanted to go for Saro the musical but I heard it was like 3k! Ha! That's my feeding for 2 weeks. Nice post.

Words can only do so much. Hugs can do much more than words, but when hugs can’t do anything, that’s where faith kicks in. For me, words and hugs were not enough, but I had no faith. So I tried to give up. At age 10, I tried to drown myself in 6 inches, or 15 centimeters of water, in my home. I told my dad I just wanted to relax, but really, I wanted to end my life. I had enough. I had enough. Ok? Click OVERCOMING HOPELESSNESS to read.
