ARE YOU A #LAZYNIGERIANYOUTH? | THE 22 BEST TWEETS ABOUT NIGERIA’S BIGGEST HASHTAG

Almost 48 hours after our President declared that (a large percentage of) Nigerian youth “sit and do nothing”, while expecting a lot from the government – housing, healthcare, education, etc. – the Internet is still talking about it! Young people in Nigeria – and diaspora – remain shocked, surprised and angry at this statement by President Muhammadu Buhari, many tweeting with the hashtag, #LazyNigerianYouth to share what their “lazy” lifestyles really look like.

Here are some of the funniest, most relatable and most powerful tweets:
This is the most falsified representation of Nigerian Youths I’ve ever heard of. Nigerians have never acted entitled, most of us do not even know what it means to be an Oil Producing Country, we buy petrol at exorbitant rates….#LazyNigerianYouths pic.twitter.com/TV3BDNQgQP

This #LazyNigerianYouths trending tag is ridiculous. All youth I’ve ever met and worked with in Nigeria are doing amazing things, working incredibly hard and hustling to make a difference in their communities and cities. Nigeria is an amazing country with inspiring youth! ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌโค pic.twitter.com/NY7kxDwwv2

  1. I am not lazy
    If I start to talk
    I believe in honest hustle
and I will work hard, smart and by the grace of God
    achieve all my dreams.

  2. I am a lazy youth, I did business while going to school. Didn't get a good job so did one that didn't pay well, did my business and attended school at the same time. So yes I am a lazy Nigerian youth.
