Almost 48 hours after our President declared that (a large percentage of) Nigerian youth “sit and do nothing”, while expecting a lot from the government – housing, healthcare, education, etc. – the Internet is still talking about it! Young people in Nigeria – and diaspora – remain shocked, surprised and angry at this statement by President Muhammadu Buhari, many tweeting with the hashtag, #LazyNigerianYouth to share what their “lazy” lifestyles really look like.
