MONDAY CHIT-CHAT: VALENTINE TINZ, BUTTERFLY KISSES, PROPOSALS & PRESSURE!

Hello and how was your weekend? Hmmm…you better have gist for me oh, it was Valentine weekend after all! What did you get up to? What was the highlight of your weekend? My weekend started roughly and annoyingly but it picked up by Saturday. The first to leave a comment + EMAIL Address wins airtime recharge!
On Friday when people were in a good mood I wasn’t, I was vexing because my car had an accident…and I just couldn’t understand why it had to be on that day. Why me???? LOL. Worse still it was one of these taxi drivers and all he said was sorry… like sorry will fix the car… sorry. I don’t know why some people in Lagos drive like cows, because that’s the best way I can describe it. Like cows. They don’t follow driving rules, that’s why accidents are always rampant. I don’t understand their thinking. Sometimes I say to myself, if you want to know why Nigeria is not making progress, just watch how people drive, their attitude is horrible. That ruined Valentine’s day for me sha. Vent over!
I went out on the evening to Oriental Hotel for Merchant’s of Romance’s event… Aunt Joke and Uncle Olu Jacobs were in attendance…it was a nice gathering of people wearing mostly whites and reds. I wore black. I dey vex. No picture biko because I was not in the mood, even the picture they took of me there na by force. The interesting part was that they assumed every couple there was married and den kon say make we renew our vows…vow wo? me and Bobo were reciting after them until we got to one point and stopped. Ah… the vows were too strong, let’s reserve them till the actual wedding.
Hmmm Saturday I woke up in a much better mood and the highlight of that day was going to Tastees for dinner, the food wey I chop no reach 2000 naira but I chop belleful! Unlike some Restaurants wey ordinary bbq fish dem go call am, “oven roasted honey-glazed chilli-peppered tilapia fish a la carte” and stamp a price of 6000 naira on it, don’t let them bobo you, you’re only paying for grammar. LOL.

Tastees has so many notices, but this was the most interesting…I don’t blame them. Some people actually stand on WC… ha ha ha. One day dem go fall. Amen?

On Sunday I went to Ikeja City Mall, not to buy Shoprite bread but to attend Butterfly Kisses with Michelle Hammond and Tosin Martins. Brethren…that Michelle Hammond is one blessed lady, I only know her as a writer but she can siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing! Her voice was just giving me goose bumps anyhow…and she can minister! She sang and shared the word, it was such a great experience. I managed to sneak a picture with Tosin Martins and Michelle. She said a lot of interesting things: “you cannot buy into the devils vocabulary because the devil perverts everything, these days “Sick” means “awesome” and “gay” doesn’t mean “happy”…chop knuckle my sista.

She also spoke a lot about the characters of love, she said love does not demand divinity from humanity, when you cannot trust a person to do the right thing then trust God, if you want something in your spouse to change instead of nagging them about it, you need to pray because unless God build’s a house those who labour do so in vain…and that last end was apt especially since I saw this signboard on Saturday.
We need more billboards like this…
Oh we got  cupcakes in Church, it was so pretty I didn’t want to eat it! But I wack am lick mouth. How many calories in one cupcake? See my life.
On my way out of the area where we had church guess who I ran into? The Chameleon Blogger! I love her blog and she’s my hair crush! Can you see how long her natural hair is? I’m not just in love with her hair but this babe has a beaurffffuuu borry. Na she be the type wey you go tell make she pull over, park, on her inner light make she show us particulars! She’s a fashion blogger and she blogs HERE.
After Church I attended Ololufemi Dinner, that was very nice, no I won’t tell you about it, why didn’t you come? LOL. It took place at LTV Studios Ikeja and it was a nice romantic dinner for couples with fun games and advice from older couples.

In other news, congrats to Funke and her boo who got engaged this weekend and also to Funto and Gaise whose proposal I saw on youtube! Watch it HERE I pray you guys have a blissful union…!!!

  1. Pele, about you car. I feel the exact same way about Abuja Especially the commercial drivers! Devils all of them- they can push a saint to swear. Co-sign on Michelle Hammond. She is beautiful and multi-gifted and has such grace over her life. Listened to her minister in January and it was awesome I tell you. Got my Honey to buy 3 of her books for me! She did a piece where she was preaching and whilst reading Hannah's story from the Bible, practically enacted the story and made it so real as if one was right there with Hannah! I like your church o.Na tush church be that and I like that they are not too "holy" to celebrate Valentine. My weekend was okay. Did the normal valentine dinner with my honey which was nice. Didn't have to cook or go to the market on Saturday which gave me a well deserved chance to lie-in after going to my church's Saturday morning prayers.

  6. Ooops, sorry about your accident. I hate drivers in this country. I think a lot of them are blind murderers. Bus drivers are homicidal idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On that note, your weekend was busy and mine was soooo calm, thank God. I listened to Michelle on the radio, just before she left for Ikeja. I like her messages whenever she visits my church.

    Have a great week.
