Hi, from my Monday chit chat you would have known that I went shopping on
Saturday in Balogun market and I thought, “why not share details of that with
you?” My main aim was to buy Ankara cos I am really lacking in that department
plus I have only been to that market like twice since I’ve been in Lagos! As a
natural shopaholic, I enjoyed my day! I shopped till the market women closed. In my family we have a special talent for shopping, we can help market people open shop and we go still dey till dem close the shop.Tweet
first thing I wanted was a wig, I just took out my fish-bone braids and I look
like hakuna matata, well, mini hakuna matata and I need to wig out for the next
one week so I went wig shopping, can I just say trying on wigs is the worst
thing in the world especially when you’re all sweaty and everywhere is noisy. The
first wig I picked was so pretty but as soon as I was told it was 35k I dropped
it like hot dodo! Emi ke? Mba nu. I gently strolled to another shop where I
bought one ombre wig for 3500 naira pere and I bought this burgundy wig for 1500. That’s more like it. How do I look?
my way to the Ankara section I found this Tinubu Square, it’s still under construction
but it was refreshing to see it in the middle of that rowdy hot market, I
wished I could just drench myself in the waterfall! I hope that this Tinubu Square
is maintained because that na our problem for naija, zero maintenance culture.
Tsk Tsk Tsk. We can build, but to manage it? mba nu.
there we left off to eat, my sister told me about this Buka she had lunch a
while ago and we started looking for the place oh, we nor know name and we kept
asking people “oga abeg you know that mama put where dem dey sell salad and
queue?” and we were directed there. I was quite surprised because the food was
so good and cheap, compared to all these fast food places. Buka food will not kiil you. They were organised
and the food looked good, I could see why people would queue up for it. The name of the Buka is SALADO…just in case you’re craving buka food, you know where to go…
Some
random stuff that caught my eyes…I saw coconut candy, I used to love them a lot as a child. I
saw kuli kuli, you can bet I bought some, this one was made from corn. I bought
bananas, I also bought tomatoes and some smoked catfish! YAY! I love cooking fried stew with smoked catfish, try it!
shopping time: I bought about five Ankara materials, so each material was 6
yards, we split the bill and will share each material, 3 yards each. They’re
such pretty colours and fabrics. Guess what? I bought one for you too. Yes, one
lucky reader will win 3 yards of beautiful Ankara. Skip to the bottom of the page!

Hi sisi…how come you always have fun even while in places one would least expect? I envy you jo. Balogun market is like a dreaded place for me cos of the stress of walking around.
Ha! Sisi I kuku know that buka you ate o, the first time I tasted the food ehn I had a second helping and ever since then I always eat there when I go to Balogun. I even introduced my mom to the buka and now we are both hooked!
If I win the ankara, I will make a pencil midi dress with a deep-cut U back and accesorize with teal/bown colors costumes since yellow is more dominant on the material. 🙂

Ahhhh, Sisi Yemmie, why didn't I jam you in Balogun na? I was in the market with my younger sister on the same day. And we waka'd all the places you waka'd! We bought some clothes from that Oluwole area. Why I no dee you na? We'd have taken pictures with you. My sister introduced me to your blog sef.
Please which shop did you buy your wigs from because me I've been searching for affordable wigs oh, whilst I try to grow my hair from its TWA stage. I think we are kindred spirits oh because me too I love Mama Put food. The picture of that pot of soup is waking me up this morning. By the way, the "kulikuli" made with corn is called "kokoro". It's very popular in Abeokuta where I come from.
So If I win your Ankara, I will make a high-waist ball skirt with pockets with it, so I can wear it to my office on Fridays. I promise to sew the dress and send you a picture so you can put on your blog and people will know that your giveaways are real. If you like sef, I can wear it to pose with you in Ikeja City Mall (I noticed you go there a lot). To cap it all up, I am also your name sake (by half) as my name is Ibiyemi though I use the nickname Aibee. With these few points of mine, I hope I have been able to convince you and not to confuse you that I should win the 3yeards of Ankara. Thank you *insert courtesy/curtsey*
Please did you say N80 or N800 for the earrings because I bought the gold circular earrings (2nd row from the bottom, 3rd earring from the left) in wuse market last month and it was N900, so right now i feel like crying !!!!!!
First time commenting, I really like your blog, it makes me smile
