REVIEW – IBIS HOTEL IKEJA – BUFFET!!!

WHERE I WENT
In my Monday Chit- Chat post I mentioned that I had dinner at Ibis Hotel, so here’s the review! I was looking for where to have a good meal on my birthday and on the day Biodun suggested Ibis Buffet… I knew I had seen the building on Toyin street one time but I had no idea there was a buffet, and whenever I hear buffet, I am happy! All you can eat tinz! LOL. Toyin Street is in Ikeja. Toyin street seems to be the happening place these days oh…new spots opening there, left right, center! Ibis recently opened the Ikeja branch and the buffet starts for 6:00 pm, everyday. Tweet

AURA – LOOKY FEELY
It was very nice, the environment was quiet, I only visited the restaurant part of it. They have conference rooms, bedrooms and all that jazz hotels have, there’s even a swimming pool! However the restaurant was not secluded, as people coming out of conference rooms and such would walk through. So that wasn’t really nice. Nevertheless, it was clean, smelled good, and it wasn’t rowdy one bit. This is definitely nicer than the Ibis in Northampton. You can see through the pictures. I didn’t really like the female toilet…lol. It wasn’t a nice background for taking instagram pictures jor! it was too small but it was clean 🙂
FELLOW REVIEWERS
I went with Bobo, Biodun, Shade, Sasha, Tolani , so it was just the 6 of us! 5 ladies vs 1 guy. You know how things like that end up nah, we (girls) went out of the restaurant to take photos to improve our instagram career, isn’t that why we were there? while Bobo sat alone, happily I might add! LOL

HOSPITALITY
The lady that attended to us was very warm and friendly, but she was always warning me not to take pictures *tongue out. I wore her out. LOL. The other members of staff were lovely too. The receptionist welcomed us properly, all smiles. The chef asked about my opinion of the food and encouraged me to “try this one, and try that one”… my belly almost burst! He was a great chef! Kai… I should have worn a bou-bou if I knew I was coming to this kain place.
WHAT I HAD
The menu was majorly African; pounded yam, efo riro, chicken stew, pepper soup, jollof rice, chicken curry sauce… I cannot remember everything I had, because I wasn’t paying attention to the names. But generally I had the fish peppersoup, Rice, Efo Riro, Salad, Fruits, Coconut cake, Sex On The Beach, Water. I’m definitely sure I had those. The rest of what everyone had you can view in these pictures… I intend to make your mouth water! LOL
MY VERDICT
Sisi: “I loved the food, everything I tasted was well prepared and delicious: my favorites were the fish pepper soup and the dessert, that creamy coconut thingy. You definitely have to taste both whenever you go there…oh la la! I shall be going back there soon”
Bobo:  “Not as assorted as I would hope for in a buffet but, the taste is right on point. My favorite part was dessert”
Tolani: “Really great evening, we ate here in October as we celebrating my friend sisi yemmie’s bday. The staff were so lovely and accommodating  The food was so good and a lot of varieties, the pounded  yam and efo riro was excellent! Well done chef. In sum, the food was excellent and really good value for money. I will be returning there soon with my stretchy dress so I can eat more. he he he”
Biodun: “I’m glad I recommended this place for sisi and bobo cuz she would love it, the serenity, display of colours, warm reception and of course good food. I wanted her to enjoy her day to the fullest especially with good choice of food and a good place where that her camera can do wonders. I’m glad she loved it!”
DAMAGE DONE
The buffet costs 5000 Naira per person excluding drinks. So the minimum you’re going to spend is probably 5500 Naira per person, it depends on the drinks you have. I had Sex On The Beach (just cos of the name), we had water, I think Shade had a fruit Punch, Biodun had water, Bobo had the Martini Bianco and Sasha had the Mojito. Not bad not bad. See the bill below. Hope that helps?
LOCATION
23 TOYIN STREET, IKEJA– LAGOS NIGERIA. I know there’s another one closer to the International Airport.
HOW MANY LOVES?
