SUYA SHRIMP RECIPE | OVEN BAKED PRAWNS

If you’ve followed me for a long time you know I love Suya! See my Suya Scotch Eggs, Suya Wrap and Yaji Curry recipes! LOL. I was staring at some Shrimp I bought the other day and thinking…e go make sense if this thing taste like Suya sha and I got to cooking! I went to the Mallam closest to me and bought some Suya for N400 then requested for Suya Spice Mix for N1000…I had to buy Suya because most of them will not like to sell that Suya mix alone. I got home and in less that 30 minutes Suya Shrimp happened…my husband looked at me and said…”you’ve done it!” ha ha ha! Now it is time for YOU to do it! They are yummy, easy to prepare and oven baked, as in fitfam friendly! Ps. Click HERE to SUBSCRIBE so that all my recipes come straight to your inbox!

INGREDIENTS
1 lb Shrimps
5 Bamboo Sticks (Skewers)
1 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1/2 teaspoon  Maggi crayfish seasoning
2 tablespoon Suya Spice Mix

PREPARATION

  • Soak Skewers in Water
  • Clean Shrimp, if you don’t know how to clean it, see this video HERE . You have to devein the deshell prawns before using them unless they are already cleaned.
  • Drain the shrimp, and pat dry with a kitchen tissue.
  • Add Olive Oil, Salt, Maggi crayfish, Suya Spice Mix, thoroughly combine it with the shrimp. You can leave to marinate for 30 minutes in the fridge or cook straight away.
  • Place the shrimp in the skewers (see the video below on how to do that) and place in a preheated oven 400 degrees.
  • Allow it to roast for about 6-8 minutes till it is a bright peachy/orangey/pinkish (lol) colour, and firm.
  • And your Suya Shrimp is ready! Serve with Yaji Curry! Yum yum yum!
