In 2017 I had a vision board for how I wanted the year to go, all the dreams, hopes and aspirations I had for the year. I skipped to the supermarket to buy an empty photo frame which would be the perfect display for my vision and I gathered old newspapers, magazines, bits and bobs that inspired me or represented what I had in mind. I set my camera to record and I made my First Ever Vision Board. I uploaded the video to my YouTube Channel and the feedback was AMAZING, I had people hosting vision board parties using my video... till NOW! A lot of the stuff I put on my vision board have manifested. It's crazy.
HOW DOES A VISION BOARD WORK?
Hmmm...let me explain in my own terms how I believe a Vision Board works. You conceive goals in your mind, some achievable and some are stuff of wild wild dreams, you look for items that represent these goals and place them on the board and keep it where you are reminded of it constantly. It could be displayed on the wall, on your phone screen, in your journal...then you WORK towards ticking it off. Some of these goals may not manifest within the time frame you set, but it will happen. As long as you put in the work. As long as you believe. As long as you are hopeful. As long as IT IS GOD's WILL! God's will is the template for my vision board.
In summary, a vision board helps you identify what you really want-what is MOST important to you!
It helps keeps you focused on your intentions because it is a contestant reminder of what you have to do to get what you want.
IS A VISION BOARD NECESSARY?
You need a vision board if:
- You are struggling with focus
- You need to streamline your goals
- You need motivation to work
- You want to set a deadline for goals
- You need a reminder for when you are distracted
DID MY VISION BOARD WORK?
Yes and No!
- I say YES because it helped me to focus on what I really want to achieve for the year.
- I say NO because once I stopped working towards those goals , nothing happened.
A vision board is not magical and will not bring to life everything you want while you curl on your sofa watching TV. You need to put in the work, pray to God, stay positive and be open to receiving good things and you will see that your wildest dreams will come true. Sometimes, time and chance happen! As a Christian, I believe my vision was in the will of God for me and that was why it manifested.
