ReplyDeleteThe best gift I received as a child was a Lunch box and a school bag after I came first position in primary 4. Most children back then will usually resume school in a new session wih new items including, shoe, bag, unifroms etc, but ours was not really that way at a point due to the recession my dad's business was suffering, so my mum getting me those new items for a new session was the best and most interesting gift i got. You can imagine how glad I was that I could not wait for the holiday to be over which was not a normal tin for kids.

Toothpaste and a brush! I was living with my uncle then. I used to cut chewing stick from a guava tree that grew in front of the house. My gums and mouth were always blistered. Then one day my mum came visiting, she brought the usual provisions with Toothpaste and brushes for we the kids this time around. I went to heaven and came back. I enjoyed it for the period she was around. It was taken from me as soon as she left. After that my Uncle's wife used to sneak some on my toothbrush when my uncle is not looking, God bless that woman for all she did for me when my uncle was not looking

ReplyDeleteThe best gift I received as a child was the Arabian Nights book. That book took me on such magical and special trips all through the pages of different stories. I always looked forward to night when my dad would read to me and change his voice and act out the characters. We talked about the stories and it opened my eyes and mind to so much. It's a gift that I'm passing on to my daughter. That love of reading sparked from then has allowed me to travel and learn without a passport. Thanks. My email is reinaade@yahoo.com
