Happy New Year once again!!! How has it been so far? Well, the morning is too early to predict the day so lets take it one day after the other.
Bobo's birthday was on New Years Day so I invited a few of our good friends to come and spend time with us, of course there was food, laughter and we all had a good time!
Last week I was on the hunt for a good creche and I found one close by, it's a full time job taking care of a baby oh and I'm forced to carry my baby everywhere with me, it can be stressful and inconveniencing for Tito too because he will just be crying, the kain cry wey dey confuse human being. So a creche once in a while is in order.
Fellow mummies how do you balance motherhood and career?

I love your blog. Makes you very human. Loving correction though. Creche, is pronounced Cresh.
ReplyDeleteit is a full time job being a mother, tried combining working and motherhood when my daughter was 6-7 months..fail!!!make sure you build tito's immunity with vitamins as he starts nursery o!Watching this vlog made me miss home sha..except for the traffic and corner corner driving..happy new year!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! You finally uploaded it. I was starting to think you did it on purpose and it was part of 2016 changes Going to watch now

I resumed from my maternity leave in December towards the holiday period. For my first week, my office allowed me to bring him to work with my nanny, which was a great arrangement but I felt uncomfortable with it for some reason. If we had a creche in the office. like we used to, that would have been different. This year, I have enrolled him in a creche which is practically across the road from my office. The facilities look good, I pray the staff are good as well as I would hate to have any reason to remove him and get another creche. The location of this one is super convenient for me - less than 5minutes walking distance from my office. My baby starts the creche next week. My nanny/help is not yet back from christmas break (even when she resumes, he will remain in the creche). So for this first working week, I have had to rely on my sister when she's home and my husband who is on leave now, to care for him when I'm at work. I find myself rushing home at closing. I am always calling to check on him. I miss him terribly when I am at work, such that I can smell him. I think this separation anxiety is worse on me than my son.
ReplyDeleteSince my baby is on EBF, I make sure I express enough breastmilk which is stored in the fridge and can be warmed in hot water for him to feed. I started doing this even before I resumed work, feeding him from the bottle in the day so he can get used to it and only breastfeeding him from late evening. I take my breast pump to work as well so I can express breastmilk to ensure there is always a stash for him. If necessary, I will go home to check on him (perks of living in a city without traffic) and feed him. When he resumes the creche, it should be even easier because of the proximity to the office. I'll give them bottles of breastmilk which they will warm for him as he needs it and take extra bottles which I have pumped at work, if he needs more.
Above all these plans and arrangements, I commit my son to God everyday. My mum always prays this prayer for him, she says as a working mum who also had to leave us with carers, nannies when we were little, she always prayed it before she left us - whatever is done to him will be well with him. Very simple, but I think very profound.
Love that prayer.
DeleteSo so profound.
Thanks for sharing
Wow!mind blowing prayer point.am a working mom too.my soon is 8mnth n I stil feel scared leaving him in the morning in his creach.
DeleteHello sisi. Lovely vlog as always. Pls what's the name of the weavon you had to loose? 2days pere? Lol
ReplyDeleteHappy new year sisi. So much love the sisi weekly
ReplyDeleteHi dear. Nice one. Creche is how I balance work life and kids o. I prefer creche to having a nanny staying home with the baby. Once u find a good creche and God's grace u r good to go. I feel u jare as per carrying tito everywhere. It's not easy. But get ready for constant cough and catarrh...lol. It's normal sha but his body will build a strong immunity. Good luck and God bless.
ReplyDeleteI love ur videos. Keep it coming

ReplyDeleteI am a full time Mom who blogs. I sometimes go out with all three kids and no be beans. When hubby is at home, he watches them while I go out. It's not easy being a full time Mom, especially when you don't get some form of relieve.
