The most comment I got on my Sisi Weekly video was "Okra recipe ohhh"...as a good person, I have filmed this and uploaded for you. Am I not nice? LOL I had a recipe published previously but it really needed a 2015 upgrade!
I love Okra soup and it is so easy to prepare. It's an all-join soup. Try my recipe and let me know what you think! Don't leave this page without SUBSCRIBING to my YouTube channel. More subscribers = more videos *shines teeth*
Okra
Palm Oil
Big Dried Crayfish
Smoked Catfish
Smoked Mackerel
Goat Meat
Chicken
Beef
Salt
Chopped fresh pepper
Maggi
- I previously boiled chicken, goat meat and and beef a few days prior and kept in the fridge. All I had to do was add bits of it and the stock to the pot.
- Cut up okro with a knife...I prefer this to blending because the okro will be nice and crunchy
- In the pot, add palm oil, Iru, dried prawns, catfish (deboned), smoked mackerel to chicken/beef stock and allow to boil for 20 minutes (till the palm oil is cooked)
- Add chopped Okro to the boiling pot of orisirisi (the pot sha) and then stir till well blended. Allow it to boil and do not cover or your okro will not 'draw'
- Taste for salt. Usually the salt/maggi in my stock is always enough for my soup so I do not add any more (hence the stock has to be rich!)
- Reduce heat and allow to simmer for 5 minutes and voila! Food is served. You can serve with pounded yam, amala, eba, semo etc. Some folks eat it with rice (are you one of those people?).
