By the way this morning I had Ukodo for brunch and it was made with ram meat, so yummy!
My beautiful plate of Ukodo |
It's called Taste Off abi? meaning there's supposed to be an abundance of fooooooooood! Infact on my way I could already imagine being spoilt for choice of food. The first item I ordered for was Banga and Starch...because I can't say no to it. This one was alright...for 1500 naira I expected a huge serving of it but this is all I got :\
So Bobo decided to waka about to see what he fancied...he settled on some a sun, nkwobi and bbq turkey. You see this 3 turkey piece? It cost 700 naira. The tiny plate of a sun and nkwobi cost 700 naira each as well...I be wan cry. The camera makes it look bigger than it seems...it was tiny!
Detan and I |
I met Oluwadetan after she introduced herself as a reader, I found her name to be very unique, do you know what it means? "God is coming soon"! Yes! Never heard that name before and loved it! She has submitted her name for consideration when the twins arrive. LOL. I met other readers...air kisses to all of you! You're too sweet.
After eating I decided to go my uncle's for my Sallah ram but before I did so I took a walk around the "garden" I found these sculptures very interesting. Don't you?
Loved my Iro and Buba (OlivesByBeth sells nice Iro and Buba 7A5634B6) |
The Taste Off would have been better if there were more food vendors and if their food was actually more affordable...which one is 700 naira asun? I can get more for less from the guy down my street. Even the smoothie my sister bought was 1k. Bia, I go make my own smoothie, it's not hard. I assumed the purpose of the event was to showcase different meals at affordable prices. I must have missed the memo. Anyways I'm still glad I came out to experience it because I wanted to since last year. Been there. Done that now :D
See ehn, I was supposed to go to the launch of Genevieve's fashion line but would you believe I totally forgot??? I felt like shooting myself when I got home and i was laying in bed...Ojigbijigbijigbi! Forgetful blogger. I have to start setting up reminders again because obviously I've not been doing well managing my time. Also don't vex if I have not replied your emails...i will do so soonest! By the way Big Brother Africa has started...are you following???
I'm going back to bed! Mwaaaaaah!

ReplyDeleteYou were really in vacation mode because you did not even proofread your post. LOL. But truth be told that starch and banga was too small for 1500! Kilode? Maybe the people thought it would be a chancw to make a killing.

ReplyDeleteHi sisi, looks like u had plenty fun during the weekend, the rice got my interest cos I keep wondering what preservatives were added and cooking it in nylon bag? MBA cos some of the chemicals from the bag may leach into the food. In all I think am hungry
ReplyDeleteThe food looks deliciousss! But the quantity and price :(
ReplyDeleteSbusola@rocketmail.com
Hello . loving your iro and buba you look slim . is somebody on a diet with all this Food?
ReplyDeletemorinawosanya@yahoo.com
See food o! But which one is instant rice uhn? Sorry not trying it. I don't know what was used to preserve it. Yikes!! The food could have been bigger but maybe the overhead cost of the exhibition fee and other costs made them to reduce the size.

ReplyDeleteFood is life!
ReplyDeleteKraheenah
hopefully next time they can make it more affordable it kinda defeats the purpose of drawing crowds if it on the high price.
ReplyDeleteI am the first to comment oh. Etisalat credit thanks. A lot of events in lagos feel overpriced and pretentious. Not suprised at the high prices
ReplyDeleteThat cute little boy, and the little girl, who is a book addict are my children. We won't charge much Sisi.
ReplyDeletehi all
ReplyDeleteThat food looks delicious! Nothing this interesting ever goes on when i'm around lol. Oh and uum that already made jollof rice? I don't know about that. Jollof rice is definitely a meal that is supposed to be cooked with love and someone in mind. Kind of like every african meal to be honest lol.
ReplyDeleteLool. Sisi, me I thought it was a free something oh. That's what all the Ad them were saying so when I went back later in the evening and my friends said it was not a free something. I was a bit happy I kukuma just went for another event. Kai, but I would have met you sha.
