Hello!!! How are you doing? It’s a new week, and another opportunity to get things right! I was feeling buzzed earlier today but when my laptop didn't work this morning, the buzz faded...So how was my weekend? Hmmm. I filmed 4 videos, I have body aches and pains from that. Still, I am very thankful and very grateful for my life this morning...I've been in that mode since Saturday. Be reminded that the first to leave a comment + email address wins airtime recharge.
On Friday I had planned to have a girls night out with Simi and Anu
until Simi jabo’d us …imagine that. The plan was Jevenik and
movies…anyhow sha me I still went to Jevenik and bought 3 takeaway packs
of their native soup…I think I’m addicted to it. This should last me
about 2 weeks…#noshameinmygame. If you know how to make that soup abeg
show me the way oh…
On our way home I witnessed a minor robbery. We were
in traffic, na so we just see one of these boys wey just dey layabout, he
grabbed one babe’s phone/purse and crossed to the other side of the
express, by Motorways (Mainland). How he did it? The car windows were down
(probably could not use the AC due to fuel scarcity) and she was
unsuspecting of the environment…Anu had previously warned me of the
area… the look of shock on the girls face is beyond description, she was frozen.
I purposely did not plan much for Saturday because I had a walk in the morning/noon and I knew after that I’d be knackered. It’s the STER Walk (Stand To End Rape)…we walked from Ogba to Agege…I didn’t even walk up to half but I was so fagged out. Nigeria is hot oh….I was just roasting like boli! The aim of the walk was to create awareness for RAPE…it was quite enlightening. Do you know while we were walking, a passerby tipped us that a 5 year old boy was raped by a man the day before and the parents of the boy were told by their pastor to just let that slide and forgive…the STER group has taken the case up. Imagine that! We need to sensitize people; RAPE is not OK. Here are pictures from the walk. Photo Credit: Demola Ajayi
I spent the rest of my Saturday chilling with Semilore and his mommy, cooking and watching the AMVCA’s! Did you watch it? See Pictures HERE. The highlight for me was when Pete Edochie was given a merit award and a car, he totally deserves it and more…also when Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva got on stage…they are a lovely couple that have stood the test of time. They need to share their tips for a successful marriage.
I went to Church on Sunday…it was awesome. The topic was “The Way Up Is Down”…and basically it was just a reminder that when you’re down the only place to go is up and you can only do that with humility. It’s a shame what pride destroys: it destroys relationships and it can even stall your progress in life. Let’s all remain humble…nobody fit carry range rover enter grave-I never hear am before. The rest of the day I spent filming, editing, cooking…o tisu mi men…I need a holiday!
Hope you didn't miss the Ojojo Recipe I shared last week? Click HERE for the recipe!
I pray that this week will be very fulfilling for all of us! God bless our hustle! May everything you lay your hands on be successful!

ReplyDeleteAwesome weekend. Wasn't too impressed with the AMVCAs but the march against rape made it worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteActivity-filled weekend. The march against rape was worth it. The AMVCAs were not too impressive. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming for the walk! it was so nice to have you around! Okay I want my airtime now. ayodejiosowobi@gmail.com.
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance!
Well done Sisi. Loved the whole rape sensitization ish. Very enlightening! Ur hair is cool...
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Nice walk and work...with pics to prove. We need to do more. Victims of rape should be encouraged to speak up and seek help. Rapists should be named, shamed and jailed for decades. If being gay can land a person 14 yrs, rape should land anyone 20 at the least. Nice one, Yemmie....
ReplyDeleteI tried your ojojo recipe oh...it was delicious!

Hmmm… Sisi Yemmie good job!!! When i talk about boys being raped people look at me like i am crazy but I think it is important that people are educated about rape for both boys and girls.
ReplyDeleteWe should always try to use every medium to encourage victims of rape to speak out so that prepetrators can be brought 2 justice.
