I've been thinking for a long time...what do I want to do on my birthday, do I want a party? Do I want to travel somewhere nice or do I want to purchase something luxurious for myself...I could not decide. There was even the option of getting married on my birthday, it was perfect. My birthday was on a Saturday but I disagreed to the option because it was cheesy, lol and then imagine, when I'm married I'll probably get one gift instead of getting different gifts and celebrations for wedding anniversary and birthday. As a sharp waffi babe I said no. Tweet
After deciding that I wanted something low key, I opted for an orphanage because that has been on my mind for a very very very looong time! I decided on Love Home Orphanage on CMD Road, Magodo. This was my first orphanage visit and for the most of us that were there, it was their first time too. We didn't even know what to say or do... just smiling sheepishly in front of the kids.
The visit turned out to be so much fun that in fact, this has to be a continuous event for me. When we got there, another group was leaving, we said hello to the kids and Bobo asked each of them to tell us their names and what they wanted to be in the future, there were about 2 future engineers, 1 male model, 1 pilot, 1 flight crew, 5 teachers, 2 writers, 1 make up artiste...LOL. They went on and on and on...
The best part of my time there was when the kids prayed for me, I'm getting goose bumps just even typing this... one of the children, Blessing prayed that "God will forgive all my sins, and that anything I touch will turn to gold, my kids will be the type of kids everyone will be jealousing...etc" If prayers were all I received for my birthday I am SATISFIED! "God bless you" is better than 20 hummer jeeps, 10 mansions, 100 billion dollars in my bank account.
We weren't allowed to take photos of the kids and that is understandable but here are some pictures from the visit. A massive shout out to Tosin of Topal Makeovers, Damilola, Abraham, Velma, Biodun, Tolani, Ramiel, Simisola, Bobo and my parents for supporting me! Also everyone that showed support my retweeting on twitter, sharing on facebook and those who wanted to come but couldn't make it. May you all never lack any good thing! I thank una oh! Una do well!
